Radiant Lovelyness!

I recently swapped sessions with my friend Kristen of Essential Imagery, who I mentioned in my last post. She did an impressive job chasing around my three boys and getting some awesome images, even the ever elusive shot (and up unto this point, the bane of my existence!) of all three together, in one picture. Yep, it’s true. If you don’t believe me, see for yourself over on her blog.

So in return, I promised to photograph her and her honey-dip (a.k.a. her husband). They were so much fun to photograph, and absolutely radiant!

These next two just make me happy.

We went for ice-cream, and this is when Matt really found his ‘happy place’. :cP

Philly Engagement Photos : Sarah & Dan (yay!)

I was elated when I ran in to my old college friend a couple of months ago. I met Sarah ten-ish years ago, and she was pretty much the coolest, sweetest, most genuine person I knew at school. She’s one of those people that you just feel good around because she’s so down to earth, easy-going, and she’s just always laughing. Her and Dan have been together forever… I mean like, they met in elementary school, at band practice!!! How sweet is that?!! They were my saving grace years ago when I was between apartments, and they let me crash at their place.

We had sooooo much fun at their session, to the point of getting stomach stitches from laughing. Seriously. Thanks to them, I know my real age… I was content thinking I was a year younger. Thanks guys for that. Thanks…a lot!

Philadelphia Wedding Photography : Sweet Love

I met R & M about a year and a half ago, and we clicked right away. I have really enjoyed getting to know them both during this time, and have found them to be just about the most thoughtful and sweetest people I have ever met. They are the first couple I’ve worked with to give me a gift at their wedding! I have been kicking around the idea of officially adding weddings to my services, and after working with them, I think that I will definitely be exploring this further. Check out their beautiful day.

We met up to do portraits before the ceremony, and it was such a relaxing and sweet way to start out the photographs, and the day!
The ceremony was filled with a sweet joy.

Fun Engagement Session

These guys, I’m sure, have been waiting patiently to see their sneak peek from their E-Session a few weeks ago… We had a great time despite the heat and the humidity, and got some really awesome shots….and I didn’t make anyone lay down in the grass. (maybe next time!) I’m really psyched about their wedding coming up in the Fall…and all the fun shots we’ll get.

If you’re still waiting for your sneak peek or proof gallery, I haven’t forgotten about you! I hope to be caught up with all my sessions within the next week or so. Thanks so much for your patience, it’ll definitely be worth the wait!

Quick Update

If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been…my busy season, and my growing belly have consumed me! We’ve had a great Spring & Summer so far, and I’ve been working hard on getting all those images looking beautiful. In the meantime, I have progressed into my third trimester and am working on slowing things down a bit in anticipation of our newest addition. Please contact me a.s.a.p. if you are interested in a portrait session over the summer. I am now in the works of finalizing all summer sessions on the calendar so I can better plan for the babies arrival! Here’s a few sneak peeks for now:

I just ADORE this image. It oozes sisterhood to me…and would look amazing as a wall canvas. The black and white version is stunning too and I couldn’t decide which one I liked better, so I’m posting both! What do you think?

Sweet Love (!)

Just a quick image from our friends wedding last night at the Moshulu! It was our first time there and we loved being on the waterfront, and what an awesome view of the Ben Franklin as well as the city at sunset. We just adore these two, and were so happy to be able to share in their celebration. I especially ESPECIALLY enjoyed the chocolate fountain…and lucky me, I’m eating for two!

Not Just Childhood Portraiture…

You may not know that for many years I was a wedding photographer…and I hung up my medium format camera to learn digital and dive into the realm of childhood portraiture. I still get contacted on occasion to photograph weddings, and I have to say that I’m really enjoying working with adults again. These guys are just salt of the earth people. They have such gentle, fun and vibrant spirits…and their interactions are so loving and sweet. Their wedding is coming up in just a couple of weeks…and if these engagement photos are any indication of their intense and beautiful connection, their wedding photos will be gorgeous.

Even as I captured the first image, she reminded me of Frida Kahlo…does anyone else see it?

I’ll be taking on a limited number of wedding clients again and will be offering a special rate to the first three couples that book their 2008 wedding with Bamboo Photography. Please spread the word, but keep in mind I’ll be out on maternity leave in September and October.
