Hello and welcome! Bamboo Photography is a childhood portrait studio based in the Philadelphia region. Photographing children is a constant reminder of the delicate and fleeting wonder of childhood and the importance of living each day as fully and as present-ly as possible. It is my hope to create images that reflect the honest, innocent (and often silly!) nature of childhood, giving us all a small dose of perspective; a reminder and inspiration for living our days a little more connected, thankful, and alive. I am delighted to share my latest images and news with you here on the blog!

Just wanted to post the last two sneak peeks from our holiday sessions.  Believe it or not, this was Mr. Serious until the very end of his session…then he broke out into uncontrallable smiles!

This last little muffin was a dream baby…and less than two months old, isn’t he yummy?

We had some little ones in for our holiday sessions.  This little guy was so cute.  I hear he’s a big smiler, but he was having a more contemplative day…adorable nevertheless!  

I couldn’t get over how adorable little ‘M’ looked in her kilt (she wore a kilt!), and this shot was just too stinkin’ cute not to share!

And one more…

I don’t know if this happens to everyone, or if it’s just me, but little girls this age totally melt me.  They just seem like the definition of sweetness.  It could be that I’m a mom of three boys… (who are super sweet in their own way!) but I think little girls definitely have a sweetness all their own.

Here’s another cutie from our holiday sessions.  

I can never get over the beauty of children’s faces.  I don’t think I’ll ever tire of photographing them, because each child is just so profoundly beautiful in their own right.  And the clarity of their eyes?  It speaks volumes.  His eyes just pull me right in…

This little guy kicked off our holiday sessions and was insanely cute, seriously.  He set the tone for the whole day…which was basically ‘catch me if you can!!!’.  I managed to hold his attention for a quick moment here, and this image is one of my new favorites.  His eyes are so deep and captivating…

We had a great time, despite the RAIN with our holiday sessions yesterday!  Thanks to all the families that braved the weather with their little ones in tow to come down to the studio for their photos…and thank you to Met Moms for putting this event together!   We got some absolutely beautiful images…which I can not wait to share.  

In the meantime, check out our Designer Holiday Cards available for 2008.  Each card is customizable and can have images and text on all sides.  They are printed on very lovely watercolor or linen paper…yum!  These really and truly are just gorgeous.

What a delight it was photographing little Zoe this weekend!  All I can say is, do baby girls get any sweeter than this???  I loved her eyes, and all her curious expressions…
